The example of 'Vaathapi Ganapathim' given in page 2 is a krithi where the thaalam starts at the beginninng of aavartham (samam),
Gajavadhana in Sreeranjani by Paapanaasam Sivan is an example of a krithi starting at half aksharam in the first line. The krithi starts at one fourth aksharam in the second line.
In the last repetition of the pallavi of the same krithi the music starts at the beginning of the cycle (Samam).
Maa Jaanaki in Kaambodhi by Thyaagaraaja starts at one & half aksharams after the beginning of the cycle. The words of lyric also start one and half aksharams after the first dhrutham. However, the accents come on the beats (consonants 'ki' of 'Jaanaki' and 'kaa' of 'pattakaa' at the beginning of next aavartham)
Ennathavam in Kaapi by Paapanaasam Sivan is an example of a 1 Kalai krithi starting at three fourths aksharam.
Sivakaama Sundhari in Mukhaari by Paapanaasam Sivan starts one beat before the thaalam cycle (atheetha eduppu)
